Bronnadh Duais Future Stars

Bhí an dara ócáid cheiliúrtha ag lucht spóirt an Ghaelcholáiste an tseachtain seo nuair a bhronnadh duais Future Stars ar Mikey Ó Dubhail Ó Cinnéide don iomáint. Ghlac Mikey páirt i dtrialacha iomaíocha i mBéal Feirste le roinnt seachtainí anuas agus bhí luachair orainn uilig nuair a roghníodh é don ghradam. Is gradam iad na Future Stars a bhunaigh Ollscoil na Banríona ar na mallaibh le haitheantas a thabhairt do dhaoine óga i mBliain 12 atá ag baint barrfeabhas amach sa spórt. Bronnadh duaiseanna ar pheileadóirí, iománaithe agus ar imreoirí sacair ag ócáid ghalánta i Halla Whitla i mBéal Feirste agus bhí Mikey s'againn féin agus a thuismitheoirí i láthair.

Comhghairdeas ó chroí do Mikey agus beimid ag súil le neart duaiseanna foirne agus aonaracha a bhaint amach sna blianta romhainn leis na himreoirí iontacha atá againn i nGaelcholáiste Dhoire.

The Gaelcholáiste sporting community had a second reason to celebrate one of our own this week when Mikey Ó Dúghaill Ó Cinnéide was awarded a Future Stars award for his hurling progress. Mikey participated in competitive trials over the last couple of weeks in Belfast and we were all delighted when word was received that Mikey had been selected for the award. The Future Stars awards are a Queens University initiative that aims to recognise young people in Year 12 who excel in sport. Footballers, hurlers and soccer players attended a gala event in the Whitla Hall in Belfast to receive their awards and our Mikey was in their midst with his parents.

Congratulations to Mikey and all recipients of awards this week. We look forward to more individual and team prizes in the years ahead with the pool of talented sports men and women we have in Gaelcholáiste Dhoire.
