Thug Colin agus Eithne Bell ón Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust cuairt ar an scoil inniu. Socraíodh tionól speisialta do dhaltaí an Ghaelcholáiste le scéal na beirte a chluinstin.
Bhronn Anthony, a d’oibrigh sa scoil, in éineacht lena gharmhic Caomhán (Bliain 10) agus Dylan (Bliain 9) tabhartas an-fhlaithiúil de £510 don iontaobhas i gcuimhne ar a bhean chéile, Rosaleen.
Chaith Colin agus Eithne tréimhse le daltaí Bhliain 13/14 ag míniú obair na carthanachta. Bhunaigh an bheirt an eagraíocht carthanachta seo nuair a cailleadh a mac, Kevin, i Nua Eabhrac i 2014. Chuidigh an t-iontaobhas leis na céadta teaghlaigh Éireannacha ar fud na tíre ó shin nuair a chailltear baill teaghlaigh thar lear.
I ndiaidh cur i láthair na beirte, bheartaigh na daltaí leanstan ar aghaidh le tacaíocht a chur ar fáil don obair a dhéanann an KBRT. Go raibh maith ag Colin agus Eithne as an obair spéisiúil seo a roinnt linn!
Colin and Eithne Bell from the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust visited the school today. A special assembly was arranged for the students of Gaelcholáiste Dhoire to hear their story.
Anthony, who used to work in the school, along with his grandsons Caomhán (Year 10) and Dylan (Year 9) presented a very generous donation of £510 to the trust in memory of his wife, Rosaleen.
Colin and Eithne spent time with Year 13/14 students explaining the work of the charity. The couple set up this charity when their son, Kevin, died in New York in 2014. The trust has since helped hundreds of Irish families across the country repatriate the bodies of loved ones who have died abroad back to Ireland.
Following the presentation, the students decided to continue to support the work of the KBRT. Thanks to Colin and Eithne for sharing this compelling work with us!
