D’éirigh go geal le daltaí na scoile sna scrúduithe GCSE agus roghnaigh an chuid is mó acu fanacht ar scoil agus tús a chur le cúrsaí Ard Leibhéil.
D’éirigh le Cliodhna Ní Mhianáin 11 A* a bhaint amach ina scrúduithe GCSE agus tá sí ag tabhairt faoi 4 Ard Leibhéil anseo sa Ghaelcholáiste; Gaeilge, Mata, Fisic agus Stair. D’éirigh go geal le Setanta Ó Gribín ina chuid scrúduithe GCSE agus bheartaigh sé féin agus beirt eile tabhairt faoi chúrsaí gairmeacha agus printíseachtaí sa Choláiste Breis-Oideachais.
Tá Setanta ag tabhairt faoi BTEC san Innealtóireacht agus ag obair lena athair i ngnó an teaghlaigh.
Is cuma cé acu ar scoil nó in institiúid eile oideachais atá ár ndaltaí ag tabhairt faoin chéad céim eile ina n-aistear foghlama - guímid gach rath orthu agus beimid ag súil leis an ghrúpa uilig a thabhairt le chéile agus ceiliúradh a dhéanamh ar a mbuanna nuair atá an deis sin againn.
Ar ndóigh, beidh tuilleadh daltaí ag tabhairt faoi chúrsaí Ard Leibhéal i Meán Fómhair 2021 agus táimid ag súil le tús a chur le cúrsaí nua EC5 agus an scoil ag fás.
September 2020 saw Gaelcholáite pupils undertake A Level courses for the first time as students entered Year 13. 9 pupils opted to continue their studies in our school and are undertaking 12 different courses.
Most of the courses are delivered within the Gaelcholáiste itself with some pupils studying additional courses in schools within the Roe Valley Learning Community (RVLC).
The Key Stage 5 curriculum is set to increase next September when a larger number of pupils enter Year 13 and while it is planned that most of the courses will be provided within GCD, our participation in the RVLC means that students can avail of a wider choice of subjects. Gaelcholáiste students are taking courses in Limavady Grammar School, St Mary’s Limavady and St Patrick’s here in Dungiven. The opportunity to study in a different school environment has been a positive aspect of their education and our pupils have been made very welcome in their host schools.
