Comhpháirt 1: Taibhiú agus Breithmheas (35%) Scrúdú seachtrach
Déanann daltaí aithris ar dhá phíosa:
- Taibhiú aonair amháin (2 bhomaite ar a laghad)
- Taibhiú ensemble amháin (1 bhomaite ar a laghad, le beirt cheoltóir ar a laghad).
Déanann siad plé agus breithmheas ar a dtaibhithe féin leis an scrúdaitheoir. Freagróidh daltaí 10 gceist agus maireann an plé thart ar 3 bhomaite.

Component 1: Performing and Appraising (35%) Externally assessed examination
Candidates perform 2 pieces:
- One solo performance (at least 2 minutes)
- One ensemble performance (at least 1 minute, with at least two musicians)
Candidates discuss and evaluate their performances with the examiner. Pupils will answer 10 questions and the discussion lasts approximately 3 minutes.

Comhpháirt 2: Cumadóireacht (30%) Measúnú Rialaithe
Cumfaidh daltaí dhá phíosa ceoil:
- Píosa A: Cumann daltaí a gcoimre, a stíl cumadóireachta agus a n-acmhainní féin.
- Píosa B: Cumann daltaí píosa mar fhreagairt ar spreagthach réamheisiúna.
Taifeadann siad a saothair agus soláthraíonn siad scór, príomhbhileog nó cuntas scríofa ar a gcuid oibre.

Component 2: Composing (30%) Controlled Assessment
Candidates compose two pieces of music:
- Composition A: Candidates compose their own brief, compositional style and resources.
- Composition B: Candidates compose a piece in response to a pre-release stimulus.
They record their compositions and provide a score, a lead sheet or a written account of their work.

Comhpháirt 3: Éisteacht agus Breithmheas (35%) Scrúdú seachtrach: 1 uair 30 bomaite
Tá trí cuid ag an pháipéar:
- Cuid A: Ceisteanna éisteachta bunaithe ar théacsanna
- Cuid B: Ceisteanna éisteachta bunaithe ar cheol coimhthíoch ó na tacair staidéir.
- Cuid C: Píosa scríbhneoireacht sínte bunaithe ar phíosa roghnaithe oibre.

Component 3: Listening and Appraising (35%) Externally written examination: 1 hour 30 minutes
The paper has 3 sections:
- Section A: listening questions based on Set Texts
- Section B: Listening questions based on unfamiliar music from the Areas of Study
- Section C: one extended writing listening questions based on a Set Work.
